Let's now take some lessons from Ananias' life.
Lesson one: God's current guidance takes priority.
We see in the scripture his conversation with the Lord while he was yet to go. He was insisting on God's behalf dwelling on the past, what he knew, what he had heard about Saul. Until God has to explain further telling Ananias, that he has been converted and he is now the Lord's chosen instrument to bring the knowledge of God through Christ to the Gentiles, to kings and to the people of Israel.
Lesson two: Trust God
Despite what he has known about Saul, he had to trust what God is now saying about Saul. He trusted God to see Paul the way God sees him now.
Lesson three: Act according to God's truth.
After gaining understanding of what God is asking him to do, He acted accordingly.
From Identifying Saul as this man, he called him brother Saul and prayed for him to gain his sight and be baptized.
Lessons four: He is a believer in Damascus
He is not an Apostle or a church leader but a believer in Damascus. In this I came to understand God can use you believer in your environment. You don't have to be a pastor, an Apostle, an elder, a church leader for God to use you. You just have to be a disciple or better put a believer for God to use you.
God could use Ananias because He was available.
From this I've learned we are a carrier of God's presence and our availability matters to God
Lesson five: He saw a vision
This also Got me, it takes a man that is open to God to know the things of God. And for him to have seen a vision he must have been praying, or fasting, or have been doing some spiritual exercises.
In essence, am saying he must have been in the right place with God, not as every believer today whose eyes are so engaged with social media and the hardly read scriptures, pray, fast, listen to sermon and spiritual songs. They just know they are believer and think that is enough.
From this, I've learned also that God has use for our eyes, so for us to see as God would have use see, we must be eye opened to God, His word, his Holy spirit, to his angels and all of God. Awareness also opens our eyes
Our exposure matters
What we think matters
Our association matters.
In rounding up, I would be living you with these few questions.
What are you exposed to?
Do you really know who you are?
Are you truly doing what God would have you do?
Answer these questions in your secret place of prayer.
Concluding statement.
It's a big privilege for Ananias to have featured in Paul's ministerial journey.
Deem yourself fit for God's work.
