But He Loves You
Have you ever wondered if anyone truly loves you unconditionally? Before you even knew Him, before you ever took your first breath, God already loved you. His love is not based on what you do but on who He is.
What Is Love?
Love is often defined as a deep and caring affection for someone. But the greatest love story of all time is not found in human relationships or worldly possessions—it is found in God’s love for us. His love is unlike any other, which is why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.
God Loved You First
You might ask, “If God truly loves me, then why is all this happening? Why does He allow suffering?”
The truth is, our circumstances do not define God’s love. His love remains constant, unchanging, and undeniable. It is evident in the rising of the sun, in the beauty of creation, and in every breath we take. Even when life feels unfair or painful, His love surrounds us in ways we may not always recognize.
The Bible affirms this in 1 John 4:19 (NKJV):
"We love Him because He first loved us."
This short but powerful verse reminds us that our ability to love exists because God first loved us. Without His love, we would not know how to love others.
A Love That Never Fails
God’s love is not conditional. He loves you when you succeed, and He loves you when you fall short. Even in moments of doubt, failure, or rebellion, His arms remain open, ready to welcome you back. Nothing can compare to the love of the Father.
Romans 5:8 (NIV) says:
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
His love is not something we earn—it is a gift freely given.
God’s Love Teaches Us to Love
God not only loves us; He also teaches us how to love others. When we experience His love, it transforms us and enables us to extend that same love to those around us.
His love shows us what true love looks like.
His love teaches us forgiveness and grace.
His love calls us to love others selflessly.
Because He first loved us, we can love in return—not just in words, but in action.
A Personal Reflection on God’s Love
As a Sunday school teacher, I often hear children joyfully singing about God's love. One of their favorite songs expresses this truth so beautifully:
🎶 God’s love is so wonderful,
God’s love is so beautiful,
God’s love is so marvelous.
Oh, wonderful love! 🎶
Their innocent voices remind me of a simple but profound truth: God’s love is greater than we can ever imagine.
Will You Accept His Love?
No matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, God’s love for you remains the same. He is always ready to embrace you, restore you, and guide you.
Today, will you open your heart to His love? Will you let Him show you how deeply He cares for you?
His love is waiting for you.
