Titus 3:5-7
"He saved us not because of deeds done by us in righteousness, but in virtue of his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit, which he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that we might be justified by his grace and become heirs in hope of eternal life."
HEIRS
A people without a true identity
So was our reality.
Lovers of the world
Candidates of unrighteousness.
To sin and its pleasures we danced
Hearers of the word, not doers.
We sat in darkness
And glory in our weaknesses
Our lives just made no sense.
But in the richness of his mercy
And in the fulfillment of prophecies
Told to our fathers many years before.
He called humanity home
To all who are weary; come
To a place of genuine intimacy.
Calvary Hill captures this picture
Hands wide open, pinned with nails
bleeding side, a loud cry.
It is finished!
The perfection of reconciliation
Between the creator and his creation.
Once sinners, now saints
Once outcasts, now sons and daughters
No riches or wealth could this price pay
Unmerited, yet freely given
Not by race, gender, or ethnicity
We all are called into this dynasty.
Till date,
His lovely hands stretch forth still
Calling all unto repentance before the dreaded day
Not by works or deeds, lest we boast
But by faith in his son, Jesus Christ.
This is a beautiful piece.
