Christian Poetry: Teach us to Pray

My Father, an hallow be to your name - the name which tamed the serpent I ‎ignorantly aimed and shot its tail, rather than its head.

Your kingdom come - a kingdom of kings ‎and priests. So teach me, adorned in purple and white, to stay in the kingdom come.

Give me bread for each day - else my daily meal be not a balanced 1-1-1 and, my Spirit, marasmic to bear the weight of Your whole armour.

Thy will be done on Earth as in Heaven - not the will of a dead man but One who is life, and made a dust a living soul; One who lived, and lives and will live.

Forgive me my sins - letters not yours that I read and believed; words not yours that I heard and believed; realities not yours that I thought of and believed.

As I forgive those who sin against me - I wish this would be true. Trust me, I tried, so hard to let go and remember not, the face that snatched my last naira note.

And don't let me yield to temptation - a stone-throw walk once my data battery is 100%; Not pornography but a huge pull to scroll and scroll and scroll...

#Luke 11:1-4
