July 20, 1896

Bernard Mizeki, an African catechist and missionary, was martyred in 1896 in Zimbabwe for his evangelistic efforts among the Shona people. His legacy continues to influence Christian missions in the region.

Evangelist Billy Graham held a massive gathering at Yankee Stadium on this date, drawing over 100,000 attendees. Vice President Richard Nixon addressed the crowd, emphasizing the nation's faith in God. Graham's sermon highlighted challenges like communism, the hydrogen bomb, racism, and moral decline, advocating for hope through Jesus Christ.


July 20, 1973

On this day, Rev. Laurie Whetstone-Idahosa was born. She is a Nigerian-American pastor, author, motivational speaker, and mentor. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware. Rev. Laurie is married to Bishop F.E. Benson Idahosa, the son of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, and they serve together in ministry at the Church of God Mission International in Nigeria.


July 20, 2002
