The Deeper Christian Life Ministry, founded by Pastor W.F. Kumuyi in 1973, celebrated its 50th anniversary with a grand finale event on August 12, 2023. The week-long celebration, themed “God’s Faithfulness,” featured a Strategy Congress attended by key leaders from over 120 countries where the church has branches.


August 12, 1989

On this day, Felix and Funke-Felix Adejumo were ordained as ministers of the gospel in Ondo State, Nigeria, during the first anniversary celebration of their church. Bishop Francis Wale Oke served as the guest speaker at the event. The couple later founded Agape Christian Ministries Incorporated.


August 12, 1890

On this day, Thomas Birch Freeman, an Anglo-African Wesleyan minister and missionary, passed away. He was a pioneer of the Methodist Church in colonial West Africa, contributing significantly to the spread of Christianity in the region.
