On Sunday, 11th January, 2026, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Governor Oluwaseyi Makinde visited the Victory International Church led by Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, for a special thanksgiving service.
Making a post on his official on his official social media accounts, Governor Seyi Makinde wrote
“We joined Bishop Taiwo Adelakun and family at Victory International Church for the thanksgiving service this morning. As I said in my remarks during the service, 2026 is a pivotal year for Oyo State and indeed Nigeria and as an administration, we covet the prayers and support of the church as we approach the end of our tenure in office. I also said that while my own tenure as governor will end next year, Omituntun will continue in our dear State.”
At the thanksgiving service, Governor Seyi Makinde also assured the people of Elebu and those residing around the BCJ-Railway-Gbekuba-NIHORT Junction that both roads will be fixed before the end of his tenure in office in fulfilment of his promise to them.
