The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has officially announced a three-day National Fasting and Prayer programme scheduled to hold from Friday, 22nd May to Sunday, 24th May, 2026, as Christians across the nation unite to seek divine intervention for Nigeria.
The spiritual exercise, themed “The Consuming Fire,” comes amid growing concerns over insecurity, violence, economic hardship, and attacks affecting communities and the Church across the country.
In an official statement released by the PFN leadership, the fellowship called on believers and all Nigerians to humble themselves before God and pray earnestly for peace, healing, and restoration in the nation.
According to the statement, the prayer focus will include:
- Peace and unity in Nigeria
- Protection of citizens across the nation
- An end to bloodshed and violence
- Divine intervention in Nigeria’s economic challenges and
- Spiritual growth and strengthening of the Church in Nigeria
The PFN noted that the current realities facing the nation require urgent spiritual response and unity among believers.
“In a time like this, we must unite in prayer for Nigeria’s future,” the statement read. “We pray the Lord to heal our land and continue to multiply His grace upon us in Jesus’ mighty name.”
The programme schedule released by the fellowship indicates that believers are expected to begin the fasting and prayer exercise in their respective churches on Friday, May 22. On Saturday, May 23, participants are to gather at PFN Local Government headquarters, while the concluding gathering on Sunday, May 24, will hold at State PFN headquarters or designated locations announced by various PFN state chapters.
Christian leaders have continued to stress the importance of national intercession in moments of crisis, emphasizing that spiritual awakening, unity, and godly leadership remain vital to Nigeria’s future.
The announcement has already generated reactions across Christian communities online, with many believers expressing support for the initiative and calling on Nigerians to participate wholeheartedly.
The notice was issued from the PFN Secretariat located at Bishop’s Court, 1/3 PFN Close behind Aswani Police Station, Off Isolo Way, Lagos.
