Popular Nigerian gospel minister and revivalist Theophilus Sunday has been officially ordained into pastoral ministry in a ceremony held on Saturday, June 13, 2026. The ordination was conducted under the auspices of One Spirit (1Spirit) Ministries.
The Ordination service was officiated by Apostle Gideon Ekele Odoma, the Founder and President of Fortress Ministry and an itinerant preacher, Christian apologist, and writer who is widely respected across Nigeria’s evangelical circles. Notably, Evangelist Sunday Oguche, one of Apostle Odoma’s own mentors, was present at the ceremony and ministered in prayer over the newly ordained pastor , a moment that carried deep symbolic weight. Reverend Austin Ukphorhe was also present at the occasion.

Theophilus Sunday is a Nigerian gospel minister, revivalist, and songwriter known for his deep prophetic chants and intense expressions of prayer and worship, and is widely regarded as one of the leading voices of revival in his generation, particularly among young believers hungry for deeper intimacy with God. He was born on 9 May 1987 in Dekina, Kogi State, Nigeria.
