Bishop Funke Felix-Adejumo, co-founder of Agape Christian Ministries and one of Nigeria's most celebrated women's ministry voices, has successfully earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State — completing a four-year academic journey she began at the age of 59.

Sharing the news with her followers in a social media post she titled "FFA… The Chronicles," the preacher and philanthropist looked back on key moments from her law school journey, including her matriculation into the university and the completion of the programme — all while maintaining a packed schedule of ministry engagements and public commitments.

One personal detail she shared drew particular attention: "I was NEVER late to class. Not once in four years. You heard me," she wrote, attributing the accomplishment to what she called "Loud Grace."

The achievement has drawn widespread congratulations from friends, ministry associates and the broader Christian community, many of whom have celebrated it as a fitting example of a life that refuses to stop growing.

## Why She Went Back to School

Felix-Adejumo enrolled as a full-time law student when Elizade University resumed for the 2022/2023 academic year in November 2022, a move that captured widespread attention in Nigerian Christian and public life circles. She was open about her motivations: one of the primary reasons she returned to the classroom was to be equipped to defend women who suffer abuse in their marriages — a cause that has defined much of her humanitarian work for decades.

She has also indicated a desire to continue her legal education further, having expressed her intention to pursue a PhD in Law.

## A Life Already Defined by Achievement

The LL.B. degree is the latest academic credential in a life already dense with accomplishment. Felix-Adejumo was born on January 28, 1963, in Ibadan, Oyo State, and grew up navigating genuine financial hardship — a background that has deeply shaped her empathy and the humanitarian ethos of her work. Despite those early difficulties, she excelled academically, eventually earning a Bachelor's degree in English Language from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, graduating with Second Class Upper division.

In 1988, she and her husband, Bishop Felix Remi Adejumo, co-founded Agape Christian Ministries, which is now headquartered in Akure, Ondo State. She serves as the President of the Funke Felix-Adejumo (FFA) Foundation, an organisation she has built into a wide-ranging humanitarian enterprise that includes the Grace Orphanage, Old People's Home, Karis Life Hospitals, an FFA Resort Centre, a Widows' Empowerment Scheme, and a Lepers' Care Programme — as well as a temporary shelter for women who have suffered domestic abuse.

She is the author of more than 100 published books, among them *Fifty Lessons Life Taught Me* and *My Seed is Designed for the Palace*, and her teachings on Christian living, family values, and women's empowerment have earned her recognition from the Commonwealth and the United Nations Organisation, which have both honoured her for her advocacy and humanitarian work. She and Bishop Felix Remi Adejumo have four biological children — two sons and two daughters — and multiple grandchildren, as well as adopted children.

## A Message That Preaches Itself

For a minister whose platform has been built significantly on exhorting women to pursue excellence, refuse limitation, and trust God through every season of life, the decision to pursue a law degree in her sixth decade carries its own message without commentary.

She started university for the second time at 59. She completed it at 62. She was never late to class.

The New Man joins the many voices across Nigeria's Christian community in congratulating Rev. Funke Felix-Adejumo on this milestone, and looks forward to the next chapter of what has been — by every measure — a life well and fully lived.
