TACN LAWMNA Marks Golden Jubilee Convention, Celebrates 50 Years of Spiritual Impact

The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN) Lagos and Western/Mid-Western and Northern Areas (LAWMNA) Territory is set to celebrate the 50th edition of its International Convention, marking a Golden Jubilee that reflects five decades of spiritual growth, revival, and unwavering commitment to the Gospel.

Scheduled to hold from August 1 to August 7, 2026, the week-long convention will bring together thousands of worshippers, ministers, and church leaders from across Nigeria and around the world at the LAWMNA International Convention Ground. According to the TACN LAWNA Public Relations team, the event will also be streamed globally through internet platforms and Glorious Vision Television (GVTV), enabling believers worldwide to participate.

With the theme “The Militant Church on the Earth” (1 Timothy 6:12), this year’s convention will challenge Christians to remain steadfast in the faith, contend earnestly for the Gospel, and stand firm amid the spiritual challenges of the present age.

A Milestone Rooted in Biblical Jubilee

The Golden Jubilee carries profound biblical significance. In the Old Testament, the fiftieth year was consecrated as the Year of Jubilee - a sacred season of liberty, restoration, reconciliation, and renewal as commanded in Leviticus 25.

For TACN LAWMNA, the anniversary is more than a celebration of longevity. It represents a testimony of God’s faithfulness through five decades of annual gatherings that have nurtured believers, strengthened ministries, and advanced the Church’s mission.

Five Decades of Convention History

Although the LAWMNA Territory was inaugurated in 1972 following the restructuring of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, its first territorial convention was held in 1977, laying the foundation for what has become one of the Church’s most significant annual spiritual assemblies.

From a modest beginning in Lagos, the convention has grown into an international gathering that attracts participants from different regions of Nigeria and several countries, serving as a platform for worship, biblical teaching, prayer, revival, and Christian fellowship. As the ministry counts down to its Golden Jubilee convention, throwback photos have surfaced on the internet of previous convention pamphlets which significantly show how far this move of God has existed.

The territory itself traces its roots to the Church’s administrative reorganisation in the early 1970s, a move that strengthened unity and coordination within The Apostolic Church Nigeria. In 2025, the territory officially adopted the name LAWMNA - Lagos and Western/Mid-Western and Northern Areas, to acknowledge the historical contributions of churches in the former Mid-Western Region.

The convention will be presided over by the Territorial Chairman, Pastor M. O. Ogunibe, alongside members of the Territorial Executive Council, General Executive Council, and General Council.

Also expected are the National President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Pastor Dr. L. O. Oladele, members of the National Executive, ministers of the Gospel, and delegates representing various territories within and outside Nigeria.

Throughout the week, participants will engage in revival meetings, Bible expositions, corporate prayers, gospel music ministrations, thanksgiving services, and other worship activities designed to deepen believers’ relationship with God and inspire greater commitment to Christian service.

A Legacy of Growth

Today, LAWMNA is regarded as one of the largest territories within The Apostolic Church Nigeria. The territory currently comprises 190 Administrative Areas, three theological seminaries located in Ilesa, Jos, and Kabbaland, a Bible College in Ilesa, and Glorious Vision University, reflecting its continued investment in theological education, leadership development, and nation-building.

Its growth has been shaped by successive generations of leaders, beginning with Pastor S. G. Adegboyega, the pioneering Territorial Chairman, through subsequent administrations that have built upon the vision of expanding the Church’s influence while remaining faithful to its apostolic heritage.

As the Golden Jubilee Convention approaches, church leaders say the celebration is intended not only to commemorate fifty years of conventions but also to reaffirm the Church’s mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ, discipling believers, and preparing God’s people for His Kingdom.

The anniversary is expected to serve as both a reflection on God’s faithfulness over the past five decades and a renewed call to consecration, unity, and Gospel advancement for generations to come.
