The Founder of Evangelical Biblical Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba, has commissioned more than 20 community security outposts and a network of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras across Jos as part of efforts to improve security and support law enforcement in Plateau State.
The initiative, which also included the deployment of 10 branded motorcycles for patrol operations, is expected to enhance surveillance, intelligence gathering and rapid response through the Peace Ambassadors Joint Task Force, a volunteer security outfit working alongside conventional security agencies.
Sharing the development on his official social media pages, Prophet El-Buba described the commissioning as the fulfilment of a promise he made to the people.
“A promise made. A promise fulfilled.
Today marks another significant milestone as myself and my precious wife commission the security posts constructed across Jos, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to safer communities and the well-being of the people.
Leadership is not only about words, it is about keeping promises and serving humanity.”
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, the cleric reiterated that tackling insecurity requires the active involvement of communities, insisting that security agencies cannot shoulder the responsibility alone.
“The police alone cannot get this job done. The military and our armed forces cannot do it alone either. Every one of you who has volunteered your time and energy to secure our communities deserves appreciation,” he said.
El-Buba called on individuals, corporate organisations and other well-meaning Nigerians to support security agencies and community policing initiatives through the provision of logistics and other resources, stressing that lasting peace requires collective responsibility.
He also cautioned members of the volunteer security corps to uphold discipline, professionalism and integrity while carrying out their duties, noting that public confidence in the initiative would depend on their conduct.
Representing the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, the Divisional Police Officer of Nasarawa Gwom Division, CSP Saidu Ventim, commended the project, describing it as a significant contribution to community policing. He said the security outposts and CCTV infrastructure would strengthen intelligence gathering, improve early warning systems and deepen collaboration between volunteers and security agencies.
Community leaders likewise welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the security infrastructure would help reduce criminal activities and improve safety across Jos and neighbouring communities.
According to El-Buba, the project is part of a broader vision to expand community-based security interventions to other parts of Plateau State and neighbouring Southern Kaduna, complementing ongoing government efforts to address insecurity.
