World Book of Records Honours Pastor Kumuyi for Global Christian Impact

Veteran Nigerian preacher and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has been recognised by the World Book of Records, London, for his far-reaching contributions to education, humanitarian service, leadership, and global Christian outreach.

The international recognition places Kumuyi in the organisation’s Excellence (E1) category, honouring his decades of faith-based leadership and his impact across multiple continents through evangelism, education, community development, and humanitarian initiatives. According to the World Book of Records, the award acknowledges his role in advancing educational excellence, international outreach, and programmes that have transformed millions of lives worldwide.

Reacting to the honour, Kumuyi shared a copy of the inclusion letter on his official X account, expressing gratitude while reaffirming his commitment to the Gospel.

“I received an Inclusion Letter from the World Book of Records, London. Humbled by this recognition, my focus remains unchanged: winning souls for Christ,” he wrote.

Reflecting on the impact of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) over the past five years, the cleric said the ministry has reached more than 50 million people globally, with over 900,000 people making decisions for Christ.

“All glory to God alone,” he added.

“I received an Inclusion Letter from the World Book of Records, London, recognizing the work done through Deeper Christian Life Ministry, and the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK).

When I look at a document like this, my heart returns to where it all began: a simple gathering of 15 university students in 1973, hungering for the truth of God’s Word. Over 50 years later, the God of all grace continues to demonstrate that when we lift up Jesus, He will draw all men to Himself.

While I am humbled by this recognition, my focus has never been on human accolades, certificates, or titles. The ultimate ledger that matters is the Book of Life, and the only recognition that endures for eternity is the record of souls saved, restored, and prepared for heaven.

This inclusion is not a personal achievement; it is a testimony to the expanding reach and power of the Great Commission. Through the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), five years on, God has allowed us to reach more than 50 million lives and witness over 900,000 precious souls saved and committed to Christ. Every crusade held, every satellite broadcast transmitted, and every village reached with the message of salvation, healing, and holiness serves one purpose: to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.

True excellence in ministry is not measured by the honors of men, but by an unyielding commitment to God's standard of holy living, righteous conduct, and untainted truth.

We take no glory for what God has done. We lay every honor down at the feet of the Master, grateful for the privilege to be His servants. The work is not yet finished; millions are still waiting for the message of eternal life.

All glory, honor, and adoration belong to the Lord alone.”

The recognition letter, signed by World Book of Records Chief Executive Officer Santosh Shukla, congratulated Kumuyi on his remarkable achievements and wished him continued success in his global mission.

Beyond leading the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Kumuyi also serves as the Convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi and is the Founder and Chancellor of Anchor University, institutions that have significantly influenced Christian education and discipleship in Nigeria and beyond.
