3 Ways to Make Your Easter Holiday Count

Have you ever sat down to think about these questions " what should I be doing during Easter"? What is my ideal Easter break like? Why Easter?

In case you have not, can you take a few seconds to ponder on its importance to you? I guess you must have finished pondering.

Jesus rose and so we have rest today.

After all, I gave you a few seconds but come to think of it. What was your response like?

Is the question weird to you? Has it ever occurred to you that you should be doing something?  Well, whichever answer lies in your mind, I'll love you to continue reading.

It's funny how I just got to know today is Easter Friday about three days ago which shouldn't be so. Believers should anticipate Easter as much as they do their birthdays.

The Easter celebration is unarguably the most important in the Christian faith because it's a day to celebrate the most important thing that ever happened in history - christ's death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. This is a big deal and should be seen as one.

The focus of the Easter holiday is the resurrection of Jesus Christ which is our entrance to Eternal life.

This Eternal life is the crux of easter but unfortunately, many Christians still have wrong views as regards Easter. So let me throw it to you again.

What are your thoughts on Easter "? spiritual Netflix and chill" or meat for the belly"?

While there might not be anything wrong with these things in themselves, sometimes, we as believers focus on the minor and forget the major things.

It's possible that all this while, you had plans for easter except for the most important things. Well, it's not too late to have a good easter, and listed here are 3 things you can do to have a good Easter.

1. Spread the Good News

Some Christians don't celebrate Easter and I find that very ridiculous but that isn't the major point here. The point is whether you believe in celebrating Easter or not, you should believe in preaching the gospel as a believer.  Jesus has given us this message to spread (John 3:16) and how we carry out the message is important.

You can decide to spread the word digitally or physically but make sure you're being intentional about it.

In case you want to spread the word with a group of people in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, you can join this Evangelism group through this link.

2. Pray for Unbelievers

I remember scrolling through Twitter and an unbeliever saw a tweet that addressed non-Christians as unbelievers and he was angry. Well, unbeliever means non-Christian, meaning such persons have rejected the message of the gospel.

Apostle Paul when he was writing to the church stated that the reason our gospel is hidden is that the devil has blinded the heart of men so that they won't be able to behold God's gift. (2 Corinthians 4:3) It's our duty as believers to pray for the salvation of people all over the world.

3. Celebrate Jesus!

Keep the joy and maintain an atmosphere of joy knowing fully well that the spirit you have received is that of Joy and not of sadness. The spirit in the believer is a spirit of Joy. Besides, you have every reason to be happy. Your saviour rose. Apostle Paul was talking to the church and he was telling them that if Christ hasn't risen, we are of all men most miserable. ( 1 Corinthians 15:14- 17) You know what? Our God rose from the dead so we can rejoice. Do you know what is more intriguing? When he rose we rose with him. Hallelujah!

This is joy for you. The apostle James was admonishing us to count it all joy when we are tempted and going through trials because Our God rose and we can have peace in this. ( James 1:2-3).

It's God's will for your life that you continue in all of these things even after Easter days, so I'll admonish you to make this practice daily habits in your Christian walk.
