Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Abiola Oyedepo (formerly Florence Abiola Akano) was born on the 5th of February, 1958, in Kwara State, Nigeria. She is a Nigerian pastor, author, and educationist. She is the wife of Bishop Dr. David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel), and serves as Vice President (Education) of the church, Pro-Chancellor of Landmark University, and a key figure in Covenant University's leadership. She has authored several bestselling books on marriage and family life and runs the Faith Abiola Oyedepo Foundation.
Early Life
Pastor Faith Abiola Oyedepo was into the Akano family in Kwara State, Nigeria, the same state her husband hails from. She was the sixth of eight children. She gave her life to Christ as a teenager, and went on to complete her primary and secondary education before proceeding to the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).
How She Met Bishop David Oyedepo
Pastor Faith met Bishop David Oyedepo in 1976 at a motor park, while she was an undergraduate at the University of Ife and he was studying at Kwara Polytechnic. Their relationship developed over the following years - a period that coincided with Bishop Oyedepo receiving what he has described as the founding mandate for the Living Faith Church Worldwide.
Marriage and Ordination
The couple married on 21st August, 1982, when she took on the name Faith which was given to her by her husband. The following year, on September 17, 1983, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, ordained both Bishop David and Pastor Faith Oyedepo as pastors, formally launching the ministry that would become Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners Chapel).
Personal Life and Family
Pastor Faith and Bishop David Oyedepo have four biological children, all of whom are actively involved in ministry:
- Pastor David Oyedepo Jnr. | June 1, 1983 | Resident Pastor, Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland; formerly pastored the London branch with wife Kemi
- Pastor Isaac Oyedepo, born on February 25, 1985 | Resident Pastor, Winners' Chapel International, Maryland, USA, with wife Ayomitide
- Pastor Love Oyedepo-Ogah, born on 31st May, 1987 and happily married to Pastor Stephen Ogah; founder of The Bloom Woman initiative
- Pastor Joyce Oyedepo-Abodunrin, born on 27th September, 1992 and happily got married to Abimbola Abodunrin in 2020; heads the Women of the Godkind foundation.
David Jnr. and Isaac Oyedepo were ordained as pastors in May 2007 by American televangelist Kenneth Copeland.
Ministry and Leadership Roles
Pastor Faith Oyedepo serves as Vice President (Education) of Living Faith Church Worldwide and is closely tied to the ministry's two flagship universities:
- Landmark University, Omu-Aran, Kwara State, where she serves as Pro-Chancellor.
- Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, where she is a key figure in university leadership alongside her husband, who serves as Chancellor.
In February 2026, she spoke at the inauguration of Covenant University's new College of Law, tying the milestone to the institution's declared theme year of "Open Doors," and noting the symbolic weight of the date - February 12 also marks the anniversary of Covenant University's original 2002 approval. The university has since moved toward launching a College of Medicine as well, continuing an expansion which Bishop Oyedepo first previewed at Shiloh 2025.
She is widely known within the church as an authority on marriage, the home, youth development, and women's empowerment, a ministry focus reflected in her books and in Covenant University's tradition of marking her birthday each February with community medical outreaches through its Community Development Impact Initiative Committee (CU-CDIIC), which has provided free health screenings, hospital bill support, and other community assistance in Ota, Ogun State, for years running.
The Faith Abiola Oyedepo Foundation
In 2007, Pastor Faith founded the Faith Abiola Oyedepo Foundation, a nonprofit mirroring her husband's own charitable initiative. The foundation focuses on providing educational materials to students, medical assistance to the sick, and support to the underprivileged, and has become one of the vehicles through which she extends her ministry to families and women beyond the church.
