On this day in Christian History, J. F. Ade Ajayi was born. He grew up to be a prominent Nigerian historian known for his extensive work on African and Christian history.

On this day in Christian History, Chief Elijah Akpan Okon was executed. In his lifetime, he was a devout Christian and served as the Director of Christian Education in the AME Zion Church, during the Nigerian Civil War.

John Calvin and his followers were expelled from Geneva due to conflicts with the city council over church reforms. Calvin spent the next three years in Strasbourg.
