24th July, 1725

On this day, John Newton, author of the hymn "Amazing Grace," was born in London. His early life as a slave trader and subsequent conversion to Christianity profoundly influenced his hymn writing and advocacy against the slave trade.

On this day, Oswald Chambers, a Scottish evangelist and teacher was born. Chambers is renowned for his devotional book "My Utmost for His Highest," published posthumously in 1927. His teachings have inspired countless Christians worldwide.
