19th August, 1883

On this day, William J. David commenced a powerful revival program in Lagos, Nigeria, which continued until October 7, 1883. During this revival, both Vincent David Omojola and Adeline Adeotan Sikuade Agbebi were converted. Vincent later became a pastor, while Adeline emerged as an educator and the founding head of the Women’s Missionary Union of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
