Apostle Aghasedo Says Sex Toys Are Not Sinful Within Marriage

Apostle Joshua Aghasedo of Powerline Church has said the use of sex toys by married couples does not constitute sin, arguing that such devices can serve as aids to intimacy within marriage.

Aghasedo made the comment while speaking to his congregation in a video shared on the church’s YouTube channel on Tuesday.

According to the clergyman, sex toys should be viewed as equipment that can assist married couples in their intimate relationship, drawing a comparison with everyday devices such as cars and mobile phones.

He said the devices could help couples improve their sexual experience, stressing that his position applied specifically to married couples.

Aghasedo stated that he had never personally used a sex toy but acknowledged that modern technology had made such devices available as tools that could assist couples.

“I have never used a sex toy. Let me just say. But in this modern day of technology, it’s an equipment. It can help you do the job to 90%, and you finish the remaining 10%,” he said.

The pastor also disclosed that he had previously recommended the use of a sex toy to a married couple after considering their circumstances.

“I have suggested sex toy to a couple before when I look at all the surrounding circumstances, so that somebody won’t go out and other things would follow,” he said.

However, Aghasedo drew a distinction between the use of sex toys by couples and their individual use.

He argued that using such devices alone amounted to masturbation, which he associated with fornication within his religious interpretation.

“It’s an equipment to help, to help the process, sex toy is only for married couples. We are talking within the framework of marriage, right? Not outside,” he added.

Sex toys remain a subject of debate among Christians and other religious communities, with opinions varying on whether their use is acceptable even within marriage. Aghasedo’s position places emphasis on the marital context and the purpose for which the devices are used.
