Pastor Titilayo Adewale, daughter of the late founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, has dismissed as false a viral statement alleging that she criticised the church’s leadership over her father’s legacy.
In a statement shared on her Facebook page, Adewale clarified that the widely circulated message, which claimed she accused senior RCCG pastors of neglecting the memory of the church’s founder, did not originate from her in any form.
“My attention has been drawn to a statement attributed to me regarding The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the legacy of my father. I want to clarify that the statement attributed to me is not from me, either implicitly or explicitly,” she stated.
Addressing the issue of her father’s legacy, Pastor Adewale said Pa Akindayomi never sought earthly recognition and would not have been concerned about whether his image or name appeared on church buildings or institutions.
She stressed that her father’s greatest legacy was the lives he transformed rather than physical structures.
According to her, “the most significant legacy is not buildings or institutions but individuals,” noting that the late RCCG founder was passionate about building people and advancing God’s kingdom.
Pastor Adewale also recalled that her father had little interest in material possessions during his lifetime, saying he was even reluctant to own personal property.
She argued that the viral claims appeared designed to stir unnecessary controversy within the church rather than promote truth.
“These reports are intended to create unnecessary arguments and discord. Their purpose is to divert attention from the divine work being carried out and sow discord among us,” she said, urging those responsible for spreading the false narrative to desist.

In her concluding remarks, Pastor Adewale reaffirmed her support for the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, praying for God’s continued wisdom, strength and grace upon him, his family and the church’s leadership as the denomination prepares for its annual convention.
Her clarification comes after the alleged statement circulated widely on social media, prompting discussions about the preservation of the legacy of RCCG’s founder. However, Adewale has now made it clear that she neither authored nor endorsed the claims attributed to her.
