The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has ordained 2,820 candidates as full pastors and 11,830 as deacons and deaconesses as the church concluded its 74th Annual Convention.
A further 5,977 candidates were ordained as assistant pastors,
The ordinations formed part of the activities marking the conclusion of the annual convention of the RCCG, one of Nigeria’s largest Pentecostal denominations.
The latest ordinations represent a significant expansion of the church’s ordained workforce, with thousands of ministers taking on new responsibilities in serving congregations and advancing the church’s mission.
In total, the reported figures amount to 20,627 newly ordained or appointed ministers across the three categories.
The 74th Annual Convention brings together RCCG members and ministers for worship, teaching, prayer and other activities, culminating in the commissioning of ministers for service.
The ordination of the new pastors, assistant pastors, deacons and deaconesses underscores the church’s continued emphasis on raising and deploying ministers to serve within its growing network of congregations.
The RCCG is led by its General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
