How to Live a Victorious Christian Life

In our world today, there are so many voices speaking - those speaking fear, limitations, disadvantages and famine; and for a person who is not ingrained in God's word, these voices are enough to keep such a person down for life. However, the Bible is replete with stories of men who, despite seeming limitations that stare them in the eye, were able to run at their problems and come out victorious. One of such men was Gideon.

The man Gideon was at the basest level a man could think of - fearful and cowardly, the least in his family and of the least tribe among the children of Israel. However, one call that changed his identity - “thou mighty man of valour” (Judges 6:12) changed everything for him. A man who was hiding from the enemy invasion blew the trumpet for battle and thirty-two thousand men gathered to him such that they had to start dropping some off (Judges 6:34, 7:1-7).

This life of victory is not limited to Gideon alone; the believer in today's world can also enjoy its fullness vitally in their lives. Yours might not be to go to war, it might be to build the largest hospital facility no government had ever thought of building, it might be to build the best Pan-African university no one had ever built or it might be to raise believers who are strongly conscious of their identity in Christ. Whichever is your calling, you must realise that your sole guide must be the word of God. The word of God brings light that dispenses wisdom, the word of God gives light that births prosperity, the word of God gives light that births every good thing a believer should enjoy in Christ and through Christ.

This light was what Apostle Paul prayed earnestly for the Ephesians in Ephesians 1:16-18, “Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints”.

It is with the revelation of this light in you that you realise that as a believer, the glory of God that raised Christ from the dead is in you and therefore, you walk vitally in newness of life. If you walk in newness of life, how could you ever fail!? You? A blood-bought believer? NEVER!

This life of God in you is the answer to the questions your generation is asking. This quickening spirit alongside disciplined decision will ensure that you are never tired of working out your faith. This life of Christ in you extracts you from living a common life and a life of corruption but instead, sets you on the high plane of victory.

The revelation light and penetrative insight from God's word is what builds your spirit and strengthens it even in tough climes. This is why no matter what is happening with the economy, the believer is meant to enjoy milk and honey, fruitfulness and establishment with so much peace. This assurance that God can never ever forsake you comes when you receive the light of revelation from His word.

Therefore, as a believer, contend earnestly for light, insist on the covenant Christ has brought to you and maintain your stability in His promises. This way, your path to victory and sweet success will be assured for life and for generations to come.
