Pastor Jerry Eze, founder and lead pastor of the Streams of Joy International Ministry, has been officially appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Heirs Life Assurance.
The appointment, which took effect on Monday, 10th August, 2026, was announced by Heirs Life Assurance, the specialist life insurance company under Heirs Insurance Group.
According to the company, the appointment is part of its efforts to expand financial inclusion and accelerate insurance adoption in Nigeria by strengthening public trust, consumer education and long-term financial resilience.
Pastor Jerry, who is also the convener of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), brings experience in community engagement, philanthropy and development communications to the board.

Through the Jerry Eze Foundation (JEF), he has supported vulnerable and underserved communities with housing assistance and grants. Earlier in 2026, the foundation announced a ₦1 billion grant initiative aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs in agriculture, technology and manufacturing.
Before entering full-time ministry, Pastor Jerry Eze worked in development communications, including serving as a Communications Specialist on a World Bank HIV/AIDS programme and with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and International Relations from Abia State University and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, described Pastor Jerry Eze as bringing “integrity, influence, and a deep understanding of people and communities” to the board.
Mr. Elumelu said Pastor Eze’s insight would help the company strengthen consumer trust, deepen financial inclusion and advance its goal of making insurance more accessible to Nigerians.
Reacting to his appointment, Pastor Jerry Eze expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying he looked forward to working with the board and management to make insurance more accessible, relevant and impactful to Nigerians.
The appointment comes as Nigeria’s insurance industry continues to face the challenge of low insurance penetration, with Heirs Life positioning financial protection and greater public trust as key priorities.
Pastor Jerry Eze’s appointment therefore represents a notable intersection of faith, leadership, philanthropy and financial inclusion, as one of Nigeria’s prominent Christian voices takes on a board-level role in the financial services sector.
