Biography of Pastor Lawrence Oyor Gomba

Pastor Lawrence Oyor Gomba is a teacher, evangelist, prophet, preacher, Gospel Music Minister and a Senior Pastor at the Davidic Generation Church, a youth expression of the Springs of Freedom Christian Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. 

A native of Eleme town, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, Pastor Lawrence Oyor was born in Ibadan as a twin on June 16th, 1992 into the family of Late Reverend Dr. Gomba Fortune Oyor and Reverend Mrs Patience Oyor, a Christian home. He was born with his twin brother, Pastor Godswill Oyor into a family of four where both parents - Late Reverend Gomba Fortune Oyor and Reverend Patience Oyor, are ministers of God.

Growing up, Pastor Lawrence Oyor attended (Nursery and primary School). He thereafter proceeded to (Secondary School). Upon completion of his Secondary Education, he gained admission to study Law at the Premier University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he gained his LLB Degree. After this, he attended the Nigerian Law School (NLS), Adamawa, Yola Campus for his BL Degree and was called to the Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria .

Pastor Lawrence Oyor is the founder of the Catalyst Network International with branches across the globe. Through this ministry, he raises catalysts of love, hunger and passion for Jesus. He is also a prophetic minstrel popularly known for his revival chants and songs, a ton of which he has released since his entry into ministry.

He is a young passionate lover and seeker of God, leading a Ministry called Davidic Minstrels. Davidic Minstrels is a global movement by the Oyor twins – Lawrence Oyor and Godswill Oyor. The movement is to awaken hearts to worship God and demonstrate his love and power. The ministry also has a church arm - the Davidic Generation Church (led by Pastor Lawrence and Pastor Godswill Oyor) which was founded in November 2021. The group released a Christian album titled – Sound War 1 which consists of several gospel songs and chants.

Evangelist Lawrence Oyor leads a spiritual mentoring programme through the Lawrence Oyor Mentorship Platform. This is a more than personal journey to help individuals grow in their love walk with God. He is also the convener of the Battle Axe Retreat (BAR), which is an annual gathering of believers who are hungry for the fresh fire of God.

Pastor Lawrence Oyor is happily married to his heartthrob, Pastor Darasimi Lawrence-Oyor (Nee Mike-Bamiloye). They got married on 10th October, 2020 and are blessed with a son, Elijah Lawrence-Oyor who was born on 16th, July, 2021.

Lawrence Oyor is a young and passionate lover of God whose sole drive is to see a generation of young people consumed with hunger for more of Jesus. He consistently desires and pursues a deeper walk with the Holy Spirit which is the inspiration for his relentless drive to invest time in communion and prayer.

While still in the University of Ibadan, the Lord began a work of revival that forever influenced him on the pathway of hunger and unrelenting passion for God. 

This prayer move lasted over six weeks with 12 hours of daily prayers. He was privileged by God to have been one of those through whom God stewarded and coordinated this move.

In October 2016, in a bid to strengthen his ministerial roots and prepare for the call of God on his life, he enrolled at the Texas Bible Institute, Columbus, Texas, United States for a short Bible Course and graduated 9 months later.

Upon his return to Nigeria, he established what is now known as the Catalyst Network International, a non-denominational faith-based organisation with a mandate to inspire love for Jesus and set youth and young adults ablaze for God in Nigeria, Africa and all over the world.

Lawrence Oyor is a Prophetic Minstrel, and he is privileged to have been used by God to bless the body of Christ with many songs among which love for God, desire for greater light and revelation of the ways of God are consistent themes. These songs have gone beyond the shores of Africa and are already blessing many lovers of Jesus around the world.

He has been greatly influenced by Fathers in the faith such as Pst Benny Hinn, Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne, Pastor E.A Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, Bishop Wale Oke, Pst Chris Oyakhilome etc. With his growing popularity among young people, his songs and sermons have blessed hundreds of thousands around the world.
